内容摘要:5G is coming and currently goes through intense standardization in 3GPP. Channel coding is a major innovation area where new concepts and coding schemes are introduced. In 3G and 4G eras, Turbo codes and TBCC codes are used for data and control channels, respectively. As academic field march forwards, LDPC codes are reinvented in the 1990’s and Polar code is invented in late 2000’s. Both codes have demonstrated great system performance in terms of spectral efficiency. They are now introduced as candidate schemes for 5G for overall efficiency, complexity, performance, and power consumption tradeoffs. In this lecture, we will present the concept, the state-of-the-art design, and standardization efforts of these codes.
